Local Restaurant Program Hits the $2 Million Dollar Mark in Food Sales
Food Lovers will delight in the launch of SavourYork Region Restaurant Week
For Immediate Release: Vaughan, Ontario: Summer may be in full bloom but it won't be long until fall is upon us, marking the return of a signature event in the city, the always anticipated and ever popular SavourVaughan & Beyond Restaurant Week.
And for the first time since the event was established in 2006, consumers will be able to "savour the flavours" at more restaurants with the launch of SavourYork Region Restaurant Week kicking off in the fall of 2010. In addition to the regional expansion, the event will run longer, scheduled for a total of 25 days (up from the previous 18-day run), weekdays and weekends.
From October 14th to November 7th, participating restaurants will offer a three-course prix-fixe dinner for $25.00 or $35.00 per person (beverage, tax and gratuity extra). Lunch menus are also available at select restaurants starting at only $15.00 per person, so you can take advantage day or night!
Plan B Promotions, organizers of the popular food event made the announcement yesterday at a Press Conference held at The Village at Vaughan Mills. Elvira Caria, Director of Media and Public Relations, said "the event continues to grow leaps and bounds. Since its inception, SavourVaughan has served over 40,000 meals and has generated an incredible $2 million dollars in revenue just at the restaurant level alone." She added "As a result of its immense popularity, we decided it was time to expand the program to make it inclusive to restaurants across the Region, and renaming the event SavourYork Region Restaurant Week."
Nadia Cerelli, Director of Marketing and Promotions added that "SavourVaughan has grown to be about more than just good food, it's about showcasing all that the city has to offer, and with this, comes even more exciting opportunities for residents to eat, play and shop in their own Regional community."
Subsequently, new partners and sponsors were unveiled at Monday's press conference where it was announced that consumers would enjoy discounts and special offers during the 25 day event period. Cerelli added, "SavourVaughan, and now SavourYork Region continues to be about encouraging the consumer to shop locally! York Region offers incredible attractions from Dining to Décor Shopping Destinations, and with the expansion of the Program, we want to showcase some of those destinations."
